Better late than never, we've just released our report on POP's activities in 2019. POP welcomed four new community partners, created new orchard care resources and lesson plans, carried out harvest workshops, and worked with over 1,200 volunteers. POP remains committed to increasing access to fresh food in every neighborhood by planting perennial crops and food forests and supporting the communities who care for these spaces. This spring, we're continuing our consulting visits with partners, sharing orchard care tips, and trying to stay connected. Soon, it will be time to harvest juneberries (aka serviceberries) and mulberries. POP has created a map showing where publicly-accessible serviceberry trees are located. Please make sure to treat these trees gently, share the harvest, and be respectful of your neighbors. Over the coming weeks we'll share more info via email and social media on this year's #JuneberryJoy campaign. In the meantime, may the beauty of spring bring you joy and hope. |
