Come out on March 21st* to celebrate the Spring Equinox and the season's most joyful herald, the dandelion!   From 2-4pm, we'll explore Taraxacum officinale, including its many spring time uses as a food-source, a medicine, and an aperitif.  This family-friend event will also include activities and crafts that celebrate all of the wonderful plants in the dandelion family, Compositae, which includes daisies, asters, sunflowers, and the many dandelion-look-alikes. We will be harvesting flowers, leafs, and digging up roots.  Some tools and gloves provided but please bring your own.

Teacher bio: Amy Kwasnicki really likes plants. especially when they are doing what they do best.  She earned her Masters in Social Ecology while working with herbalist Susun Weed, which including a great deal of meandering along road beds and in the woods, harvesting what there was to be found.  She still enjoys foraging, hanging out with weeds, and finding new ways to work with all the great things plants bring into our world, especially in the city.
