By investing in POP, you support 71 orchards in 24 zip codes in Philly.

The Philadelphia Orchard Project (POP) is grounded in relationships and powered by the dedication of many people, including our 71 community orchard partners, the more than 2,100 volunteers and participants who showed up this year, and of course, you! Together, we have come a long way. Just like an orchard, an organization grows in seasons, and POP has blossomed. What began in 2007 as a humble volunteer-led effort has become a thriving nonprofit that impacts the whole city.

Two of those early volunteers, Phil Forsyth and Kim Jordan, went on to become our Co-Executive Directors, and much of POP’s success is a result of their determination, dedication, and hard work. Now, after nearly two decades of their visionary stewardship, POP is entering a new chapter, moving to an extended leadership framework with a single Executive Director position. In 2026, Phil will shift to a new position as Director of Horticulture and Kim will assist with the transition as a strategic advisor. We look forward to welcoming a new Executive Director early next year.

This is an important milestone. It’s a time to celebrate the legacy of Phil and Kim and look boldly toward POP’s future. As we enter this new phase, your support is more critical than ever. The need for access to clean air, fresh food, and peaceful green spaces has never been greater.

We know that real change comes from community. From neighbors.

From you.

Please consider making a gift today. POP is still a grassroots-powered organization doing big things. We rely on individual donations, and every contribution truly makes a difference.

Donate online to help us reach our year-end giving goal of $30,000. We also urge you to consider becoming a monthly sustaining donor. The consistent year-round support helps us focus on the real work and allows you to make a bigger impact.
