Plant, Learn, Harvest, Celebrate! Join us at an upcoming orchard event.

We invite you to join POP and our community partners in a wide range of events including planting and caring for orchards across the city; workshops and other educational programs about ecological orchard care and related topics; POPHarvest gleaning opportunities; and harvest festivals and other community events! Volunteers of all ages and skill levels are welcome at planting and orchard care events. Please RSVP below in order to receive detailed event directions and updates and so that we know how many volunteers to expect. We also encourage you to join POP’s volunteer email list to receive announcements of new events and opportunities to get involved.

POPCORE - Pruning and Eco-orchard Seasons

Join us for the first session of our 2020 POPCORE urban orchardist training course. Workshop will provide a look at ecological orchard care through the seasons and focus on winter pruning of fruit trees, berry bushes, and fruiting vines. Morning classroom session will be followed by hands-on pruning at the FNC Poplar Farm orchard.

Class preceded by optional tour of The Woodlands (4pm to 5pm) and community potluck (5pm-6pm).
